The General Confederation of Mauritanian Workers demands the implementation of the 2013 law by the government that obligates the National Company for Industry and Mines (SNIM) to deal with construction companies that provide occupational safety and health measures.

This demand came after the recurring work accidents in companies that employ daily wage workers who are not enrolled in the social security system, which makes these workers deprived of all their rights and exposed to many dangers including what one of the workers was exposed to recently in one of the (Saneem) workshops, where his leg and fingers were amputated.
