Oman _ Omani Minister of commerce and Industry has decided to allow Yemeni workers to work in Maziyouna free zone without the need for visas or permanent residency in Oman.
The Omani Minister of commerce Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidi has reinforced during the ceremony of placing the foundation stone for Maziyouna gate hotel, , which will be constructed by the Yemeni-Omani Group; that the Omani government has worked to develop a package of incentives and facilities to encourage Yemeni investors and facilitate the investment for them by making the process easier.
He confirmed that they will be given many incentives including exempting companies operating within the region from income tax and submitting declarations of income which are stipulated in the Income Tax Act, and allow importing of goods into the region without an importing permit and the exemption from the minimum capital investment charge that is stipulated in the commercial companies law or any other law.
The Free Zone Maziyouna is considered the gate of Oman toward Yemen; located on the international line which links between the two countries it is located near the Yemeni shipping port. The gate of the Gulf trade is thought to be the transit to the Republic of Yemen and from there to the East African countries.
