Morocco: National General Strike on February 5, 2025, Called by the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT)<\/p>\n
In a strong move to defend the economic and social rights of Moroccan workers, the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT) has announced a national general strike for Wednesday, February 5, 2025, covering all key sectors including the private sector, public administration, local municipalities, and public and semi-public institutions.<\/p>\n
Strike Implementation Details:<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udd39 Private Sector: The strike will be carried out in accordance with the internal procedures of each workplace, with a complete work stoppage from the first to the last hour of the strike day.<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udd39 Public Administration, Municipalities, and Public Institutions:
\n\u2022 A full 24-hour work stoppage starting from midnight Tuesday\/Wednesday.
\n\u2022 No signing of attendance registers or electronic check-ins on the strike day.
\n\u2022 Commitment to the protest program defined by the union branches within each sector.<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udd39 Health Sector: Emergency and intensive care units in public hospitals are exempted from the strike to ensure continuity of essential medical services.<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udd39 Parallel Actions: The CDT will also organize regional, local, and national protest gatherings in conjunction with the strike.<\/p>\n
According to the CDT\u2019s official statement, this strike comes in response to what it describes as the government\u2019s continued disregard for workers\u2019 demands, especially in relation to:
