Tunisia: Workers of 'Itissalia Services' begin a hunger strike

A group of the company 'Itissalia Services' began last week, a hunger strike at the headquarters of the company where an open sit-in was organized against the deprivation of employees of their right to increase salary for three years.

In this context, the newspaper 'Achaab' has revealed that the company is experiencing tensions in all its subsidiaries (Beja, Kasserine and Jendouba) because of the general administration and supervisory authorities that still block wage increases. Several protest rallies and strikes were organized with the collaboration of the Tunisie Telecom Group Syndicate after the Minister of Communication Technologies refused to apply the general wage increase with retroactive effect. The minister continues to refuse to continue negotiations on the company's collective agreement.

The workers are also calling for the creation of a social security fund and the release of promotion bonuses.
