Morocco: Trade unions denounce the amendments suggested by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises

The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has called for a reform of the labour law in light of the socio-economic changes. This proposal has been denounced by trade unions, which are firmly opposed to the concept of “labour flexibility,” claiming that it is a violation of the workers’ rights. CGEM presented a “white paper” that includes many proposals including flexibility, new working methods, professional mobility, labour law reforms, and social mediation. The document contains concrete measures for the implementation of the New Development Model (NMD) by employers, affecting the entire private sector.
