Casablanca, [Date] – The Moroccan Labor Union, represented by the Delivery Workers’ Union of the “GLOVO” platform, announced a 48-hour national strike on September 1 and 2, 2025. The strike will be accompanied by a workers’ protest on September 1 in front of the company’s headquarters in the Casablanca Finance City at 2:00 p.m., to demand their fair and urgent rights.
The workers explained that their demands aim to improve working conditions and ensure workers’ dignity amid difficult economic circumstances and rising living costs. Their demands include:
-
Immediate increase of the base delivery fee to counter inflation and the erosion of purchasing power.
-
Double rates for night shifts due to the risks associated with working in the dark.
-
Double rates on national and religious holidays in compensation for sacrificing family time.
-
Full payment for every delivery, including canceled orders, and the abolition of batch orders.
-
Transparent and verifiable algorithms that comply with traffic laws and occupational health and safety standards.
-
Reactivation of all arbitrarily suspended or banned accounts, and a guarantee that no worker will be banned without a hearing and a fair investigation.
-
Full transparency of the app’s algorithms regarding pricing, incentives, disciplinary procedures, and the protection of personal data.
-
Resumption of operations in Bouskoura and Dar Bouazza areas.
-
Protection of delivery workers’ dignity against any harassment from the company’s administrative staff.
In their statement, the workers affirmed: “Do you want your profits? They depend on the turning of our bicycle wheels. We want our rights and our safety, and those come first. We will not back down until we achieve them.”
This union action comes as part of workers’ efforts to defend their economic and social rights, ensure a fair and safe working environment, and emphasize the need for the company’s management to respond to their legitimate demands.
